Use Smartlist as a Spam Filter

I'm interested in the possibility using Smartlist as a spam filter but in looking thru the docs and doing some experimentation with the configuration I cannot figure out how. Has anyone created a configuration that lets them to this? If so, could you let me know how or send me a copy of your configuration files? Thanks in advance, Joe

According to the docs, SmartList is perhaps not the best tool for the job, but the underlying mail software, procmail, is. the August 2001 Linux Magazine has a good article on using procmail to filter mail, spam in particular, by Aeleen Frisch on page 48. Check out: http://www.ling.helsinki.fi/users/reriksso/procmail/links.html and http://www.ling.helsinki.fi/users/reriksso/procmail/mini-faq.html has a lot of information about setting up filters and using regular expressions. Unfortunately the Linux Magazine article isn't on the web yet, they put stuff from the magazine up about 3 months behind. But check here for a mail article by Aeleen Frisch http://www.linux-mag.com/depts/guru.html Steve Carter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Meadors" <joe@ussliberty.com> To: <smartlist@Lists.RWTH-Aachen.DE> Sent: Friday, August 17, 2001 12:22 AM Subject: Use Smartlist as a Spam Filter
