Hi. I am one of those people who have control panel, with limited access to support. I am still learning a great deal, but there is a feature where you go to your mail administration program, click on the list name, click on administer mailing list. Then you click on the type of list you want it to be. Your choices are subscriber only, newsletter, or moderated. I haven't figured out how to work the moderated one yet, but the subscriber only and newsletter work perfectly (at least for me). I use the newsletter format in the manner in which you are trying to use yours. There are only those people in the accept list which I want to be able to post to the list. Once you make the change to newsletter, you need to test it to be sure it works before you put your subscribers addresses in it. Now, if only I could figure out these other things about how to make moderated work! Cindy For products designed for chemically sensitive people, try http://www.zavanahbay.com the
accept file. I wish to have subscribers put in the dist file, and not the access file. I wish to have the access file for only those I want to be able to post to the list.

The moderated option in this control panel, delinks the accept and dist files, uncomments foreign_submit in the rc.custom file and creates a moderators file. It is still necessary for the moderators to be added to the accept file and to the moderators file and to include the authorizing header that is necessary in every e-mail sent to the list by a moderator. Or if mail client doesn't allow an additional header, the authorizing line added to body of e-mail separated by blank line before body of e-mail -- sorry can't remember the syntax, but it is well documented both in manual and in various FAQs. Hope this helps... --Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cindy" <cindy@zavanahbay.com> To: <smartlist@Lists.RWTH-Aachen.DE> Sent: Sunday, October 08, 2000 11:21 AM Subject: control panel issues list.
