I recall reading somewhere in the archives that the auto unsubscribe feature does not work if the bouncing address is a Lotus Notes account. Is this true? And, if so, has anyone come up with a work around?
Some bounce messages do not contain enough information to determine the address to which the original message was sent; Lotus Notes is one generator of such unhelpful bounces. The only way to test this is to send an occasional message individually to each mailing list subscriber rather than to the list as a whole; this is not automated in SmartList (though I'm planning to write a system which would make it easier).
Also, is it possible, or difficult, to get Smartlist to execute a predefined command, as opposed to the default action of removing an address from the distribution list, when an address starts bouncing?
Not especially hard, though it's not just a matter of editing config files - take a look at ~/.bin/procbounce. Roger
