There is no special command to switch to digest mode. It would be nice if someone extends rc.request to do such a thing.
Wouldn't that really require a completely different "philosophy" when it comes to digests? I mean, SmartList has a loose and rather overlayed connection between the interactive and the digested lists, but they _are_ two completely seperate lists so far as the system is concerned. To "switch" a user between "formats" actually would require something _above_ the list level, since you're really subscribing a user to one list and unsubscribing him from another. Other list managers have a different philosophy, where one list has various "settings" connected to each address, allowing the list-level software to change a digest setting for a specific address which controls how the mail is sent to that specific address. Here the control _is_ at the list level, since there's only one list mailed in two (or more) different ways. Not complaining (I'm comfortable with it), but only observing that it would be difficult if not unwieldly to impliment this through changes to rc.request, the way SmartList now "thinks" about digests. Seems easier to me to have a web-based "switcher" that sent the appropriate sub/unsub commands (allowing a forced confirmaton to the digest subscription). Charlie
