At 6:41 PM -0400 6/5/01, Maren Landschulze is rumored to have HTMLized:
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hi, I am trying to set up a list that sends a footer text with every mail. I followed the instructions in the manuals and FAQs, but still no footer appears on the mails that are send to the list. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The command I used looks as follows: </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2># </FONT></DIV> <snip>
The footer is there. Since you are sending your mail with a Content-Type of multipart/alternative, and all the associated bandwidth-wasting HTML data, plain text copy, and multipart boundaries, however, you simply cannot _see_ the footer that SmartList is cheerfully appending. Solution: force Outlook Express to send plain text email. Charlie
