I think you will find that the "paonia" administrator is the one at fault here. Check the headers of the bounce message you received. As a casual inspection of the headers of this or any other mailing list message will show you, this mailing list is run on mailman (because the RWTH-Aachen.de server was changed over to it some time ago).

No, that would be because it doesn't have a droolproof web interface. Many modern email users appear to find the concept of "send a message to address 'x' with subject 'y'" too challenging for them. Mailman makes it much easier to join or administer a list even if you have minimal comprehension skills. Roger
