fixed my own problem

here's how to block attachments: go into rc.init and uncomment the line that points to rc.local.s00 go to http://www.hardlink.net/Support/Smartlist/contrib/reject_garbage.txt create the rc.local.s00 file using the script on the above web page copy and paste the two scripts (rejectmsg / rejectquote) into two text files (don't forget to edit the e-mail addresses) upload everything to your smartlist directory So far, it appears to be working, but I'm continuing to test.
