It's perfectly clear to me; if foreign_submit = "yes," then foreign (non-subscribers) may post. If it is unset (that is, removed completely and therefore doesn't exist with ANY value), foreign (non-subscribers) may NOT post. You apparently don't understand the way SmartList deals with variables; if you make one "go away" (unset it), then it can't start with the letter "y," and as such is identical to setting it to "no," or "hu-uh," or "idontthinkso" (with the advantage of it not cluttering up memory with a variable that is, in effect, useless). If you don't like unsetting variables, and don't care about filling memory with junk, please feel free to change the value to "heckno" if you want; we won't mind. As to the single/double comment, please see my response to Mr. Matheson, copied to you, which will hopefully explain what a helpful thing this is. Charlie
