I am trying to set up a moderated list on an ISP server. My ISP uses qmail. After resolving some earlier problems (with help from this list - thanks!) I think I am close to success. I was able to successfully subscribe to my list. But when I send a test message to my list, I (as the only moderator and only subscriber) receive no message back. The log contains the following:
From abwatson@mindspring.com Sun Dec 09 23:08:45 2001 Subject: test6 Folder: formail -R"From X-Envelope-From:" -uDate: -iReturn-Receipt-T 950 From testing-request@visionscience.com Sun Dec 09 23:08:45 2001 Subject: test6 Folder: formail -R"From X-Envelope-From:" -uDate: -iReturn-Receipt-T 1148 From MAILER-DAEMON Sun Dec 09 23:08:45 2001 Subject: failure notice Folder: request 1948
and the file "request" contains:
From MAILER-DAEMON Sun Dec 09 23:08:45 2001 Return-Path: <> Delivered-To: testing-request@visionscience.com Received: (qmail 65812 invoked for bounce); 9 Dec 2001 23:08:45 -0000 Date: 9 Dec 2001 23:08:45 -0000 From: MAILER-DAEMON@bouncehost To: testing-request@visionscience.com Subject: failure notice X-Diagnostic: Mail coming from a daemon, ignored X-Envelope-To: testing-request
Hi. This is the qmail-send program. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<abwatson@visionscience.com>: This message is looping: it already has my Delivered-To line. (#5.4.6)
--- Below this line is a copy of the message.
... Am I doing something wrong, or is qmail sabotaging my efforts (or both...)? Any advice? -Andrew
