I don't want all the members on the list to know the e-mail addresses of everyone else on the list. However, when I send a test message to the list, each list member gets a message with the entire list's e-mail addresses in the "Resent-to" header.
Is it possible to get smartlist to send out the messages using the "bcc" header?
That's not really the procedure - look up SMTP envelopes some time. In short, the headers of the message don't necessarily have anything to do with the users to whom it's sent...
Or is there some other way to keep the addresses of the list members private?
If you're using exim, add to the main section of the config file: always_bcc=true I am not aware of another MTA that shows this behaviour by default. Roger
