digest-problem

Hello list, My digest stopped working and it seem to be a strange problem. I checked the archive/latest dir and there I found that the digest.header, digest.body and digest.trailer files are not being created (Although the logs show that the digest gets the mail.) I created the digest.header manually but the body and trailer files are not created when new mails arrived. I would appreciate your help in figuring out a solution. I use a recipe on one of my mailing lists that sends an auto-reply. The problem I am having is this. When spam hits the list and it auto-replies and then bounces back because the reply-to sender is bogus, somehow this has caused the server that bounces the e-mail to think my mail server is spamming and then we got on the spamcop blacklist. Smarthost strips out the originators original headers and replaces them with our info. Is there anyway for the original headers to be retained so that the offender is reported and not my server? Can't get SmartList working with Exim 4... HELP!!!!

Hello, I just upgraded from Exim version 3.*+ to Exim 4.2. I had SmartList working on fine on Exim 3.*+, but after upgrading, SmartList IS sending out email, but we are getting tons of emails coming back like this: Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: Laura(a)Care2Learn.com unrouteable mail domain "care2learn.com" tebanks01(a)msn.com unrouteable mail domain "msn.com" carolyn34474(a)msn.com It will deliver to some domains, but not others like msn.com or yahoo.com, etc.... There is an FAQ out there about how to get SmartList working with Exim 3.* and that's how it I got it working in the first place, but I can't find anything about getting it to work with Exim 4.2. Any help would be greatly appeciated!!! This is what I used to have in the Directors Section: list_director_slist: driver = smartuser suffix = -request suffix_optional local_parts = !.bin:!.etc require_files = /home/slist/${local_part}/rc.init transport = list_transport_slist I changed it to the following, because Exim 4 doesn't like the driver = smartuser, or the suffix, and suffix_optional options: list_director_slist: driver = accept local_part_suffix = -request local_part_suffix_optional local_parts = !.bin:!.etc require_files = /home/slist/${local_part}/rc.init transport = list_transport_slist I put that in the Router Section. Hello List, I am running a mailing list using smartlist. A member of digest-list got the following mail : ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: <my-list-request>@host.domain To: <my-list-d>@host.domain Subject: You have been removed from the list Your mail address <my-list-d>@host.domain has been removed from the <my-list>host.domain mailinglist. It generated an excessive amount of bounced mails. Before sending in a subscription request to <my-list-request>@host.domain again, please ensure that this problem has been resolved. When in doubt, ask your system administrator or send mail to "postmaster". The last one of those bounced mails has been quoted below: < a main description> ------------------------------------------------------------------- I didnt understood what happened. The member was orginally subscribed to the digest list but the mail shows that she is unsubscribed from the normal mailing list. I would appreciate ur help in figuring out this issue. Here is the error I am getting trying to send e-mail to my lists after upgrading sendmail. SYSERR(smart) cannot create queue temp file permission denied dangerous permissions 40755 on /var/spool/clientmqueue. What can I do to fix this...??? Jerry Sloan
