Preserve Received headers?

Does anyone know how/if SmartList can be modified so that the 'Received:' headers from the original mail sent to a list are kept intact and included in the messages sent to all the list members. Thanks Tony

Smartlist 3.13 rpm missing multigram?

Hi I have the SmartList-3.13-1.i386.rpm from http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/contrib/libc6/i386/SmartList-3.13-1.i386.html. I am trying to run it under RedHat 7.0 on a relatively old box (unfortunately too small for building the 3.15 version which I see is out there in src form). After the initial install and fixups (smrsh etc), I successfully can send a mail to my-list-request AND get a good response back, saying "you were subscribed". However, when I look at the dist file, it does not have any email addresses in it. Upon inspection of the log file, it says that it can't find multigram, which in fact is true, its not part of the rpm, nor part of my RedHat 7 installation anywhere. So I really have two questions: 1. Is there a mulitigram binary from the 3.13 version that I can get my hands on? OR 2. Is there a binary rpm for the 3.15 version that I should be using instead? Problems with Smartlist 3.15 and Sendmail 8.12

Hello, I'm using Smartlist 3.15 with sendmail 8.12.0 (all debian packages). I've moved some list from a system with sendmail 8.9.3 and now for every submission to the list I get the following error: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- "|/var/list/.bin/flist listname-request" (reason: Cannot open input) (expanded from: <listname-request(a)mydomain.it>) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- flist: Can't find ".etc" in "/usr/sbin" 550 5.3.0 "|/var/list/.bin/flist listname-request"... Cannot open input --- I didn't found any suggestions around the Net about this problem. I've also tryed with a freshly created new list and the problem is the same. Is this a Sendmail issue or a Smartlist issue? I've also tryed to use the feature smrsh of sendmail, putting flist in /usr/lib/sm.bin/ as described in the FAQ but the errors remains the same. Multiple list subscriptions by email

Hey guys, I posted before about the CGI script I'm rewriting for smartlist (originally written for majordomo). The script has to send seperate emails for each list a user wants to subscribe to using sendmail. If a user wanted to subscribe to five lists using our web form, would it work if the script requested one email with this header? To: webmaster(a)mycompany.com From: user(a)theircompany.com Cc: list1-request(a)mycompany.com, list2-request(a)mycompany.com, list3-request(a)mycompany.com, list4-request(a)mycompany.com, list5-request(a)mycompany.com Subject: subscribe (this could be in the body) Or would even a Bcc work? The bottom line is that I want the script to send only one email request to sendmail when subscribing a user to multiple lists. Otherwise, I'd have to put the sendmail code in a foreach loop (Perl), which I don't want to do. Any help would be much appreciated. .tony

how to retain original posts' details in a moderated list ?

Hi all, I just switched from a moderated 'majordomo' list and having following problems. Would really appreciate some response. - In majordomo, I could take the original post that came to me for approval, add my 'Approved: pwd' in first line of body and send it back to mailing-list and it would show up as if it was posted by the original sender, keeping the "Return-To: email', Date, etc. intact. Is there a similar feature in 'smartlist' ? Currently, I am 'forwarding' all the users' posts to the mailing-list with 'Approved: pwd' as the first line in body but in the process, I am losing all the details of the original post. Also, forwarding the post after approval puts the quotes in every line. I have a feeling that there should be a better way of achieving this functionality in smartlist but not sure how. - If a user is already subscribed and tries to subscribe again, is it possible to send him the following message back: ***** subscribe >>>>> You are already subscribed! Currently, user does not get any email/notification back but the moderator gets a copy of the subscriber's email. Could someone please suggest me some 'recipe' for this or point me in the direction were I can get one for these problems. Thanks Nishi

can not get 'moderated' to work !

Hi all, I have tried the doc/manual and the archives and yes, I did find a good deal of reference to this functionality but somehow, I am not able to get it to work. I have created a moderated list by turning 'moderated_flag= yes' in rc.custom but I am having problem submitting the approved post. As the designated moderator, I get the email with the original post but all my subsequent submissions tagged with 'Approved: my_email_id pwd' are coming back to me as it is. I have tried following but without any luck (all without quotes): 'Approved: my_email pwd' in subject 'Approved: my_email pwd' in body, as first line 'Approved: my_email' in subject 'Approved: my_email' in body, as first line Could someone please help me.
