Hierbei soll ein kleiner Unfall mit chemischen Gefahrstoffen simuliert werden. Es handelt sich um eine Übung, von der keinerlei echte Gefahr ausgeht. Die Übung ist bereits mit unserem Hausmeister Jens Beckers und dem Brandschutzbeauftragten der RWTH abgesprochen. Konkret wird die Übung so aussehen: 1. Im Gefahrgutlager im Keller am Westpavillion (Abb. 1, rote Markierung) wird ein Unfall simuliert/"gespielt". 2. Die Feuerwehr rückt mit 2-3 Fahrzeugen (ca. 20 Leute) an (s. Abb. 2), erkundet die Lage und wird Feuerwehrleute zur Beseitigung der (simulierten) Gefahr in das Gefahrgutlager schicken. 3. Am Parkdeck unter dem Westpavillion (s. Abb. 2) wird ein Platz zur Dekontamination aufgebaut, in dem die Feuerwehrleute abgeduscht werden können. 4. Die Übung wird beendet, Besprechung, Aufräumen, Ende gegen 22 Uhr. Diese Aktion dient der Übung der Feuerwehr und damit unserer/Ihrer direkten Sicherheit in der Vorbeugung. Ich würde mich daher um Ihr freundliches Verständnis und Unterstützung freuen: 1. Den Parkplatz unter dem Westpavillion bitte ich ab 19 Uhr freizuhalten oder Autos umzuparken. Meistens sind ja zu dieser Zeit nur noch vereinzelte, "Nachtaktive" Mitarbeiter hier, so dass genug Ausweichmöglichkeit bestehen sollte. 2. Nicht erschrecken, wenn Sie Feuerwehr und -leute in schwerer Montur abends sehen. Wir werden keine Labors oder Büros betreten und auch die Hauptflure nicht benutzen. Man kann ja über den Parkplatz und den Kellereingang sehr gut üben, ohne Mitarbeiter zu stören. Bei Fragen können Sie sich gerne jederzeit an mich wenden. Vielen Dank im Namen der Feuerwehr! Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Tobias Blume ---- Dear colleagues, the fire brigade Aachen would like to conduct a drill/exercise at the Helmholtz-Institute on Thursday, June 11th from 7pm on. We will simulate a small accident with chemical substances. This is going to be only a simulated accident for training purposes, there will be no real harm or danger. The drill/exercise has been discussed with our facility manager Jens Beckers and the fire protection officer ("Brandschutzbeauftragter") of the RWTH Aachen. In detail, the exercise will be carried as follows: 1. A small accident will be simulated at the storage room for hazardous materials at the basement of west pavilion (see Abb.1, red mark). 2. The fire department will arrive with 2-3 cars/about 20 people (see Abb. 2), inspects the situation and will send some firemen into the storage room to clear the chemical hazard. 3. A decontamination area will be installed at the parking lot below the west pavilion (see Abb. 2), in which firemen can be showered and cleaned 4. Exercise will be concluded, discussion, clean up, end at around 22pm The purpose of this exercise is the training of the fire department and thus aids directly in our/your preventive safety. I would therefore appreciate your kind understanding and help: 1. Please clear the parking lot below the west pavilion from 7pm on. Usually there are very few "night-active" people around at this time. There should be ample parking spaces on the other side. 2. Do not panic, if you see firemen in heavy gear during the time of the exercise. We will not use any labs or offices and also not use the main hall ways. The storage room is very well suited, since it can be accessed via the basement entrance without disturbing too many employees. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
