This beginner’s German course is intended to assist spouses and partners of visiting researchers and doctoral students in becoming acquainted with their new surroundings. Participants will learn basic oral and written communication skills to allow them to carry out basic tasks like exchanging personal information, filling out forms, writing e-mails and letters, and expressing personal views. Among the topics treated in the course are introductions, family, accommodation, eating and drinking, leisure activities, health and travel.
Regular attendance is required if participants expect to make demonstrable progress.
When? Thursday from 9.30 - 11.45 (3 lesson hours), October 15th, 2009 – February 25th, 2010
Where? Humboldt Haus, Pontstraße 41, 2nd floor
The participation fee for the course is 50 € including the costs for providing a child-care for the duration of the course. Please indicate whether you wish to make use of the service when registering.
