Dear DoC.Net User, The International Office of RWTH Aachen University would like to invite all scientific staff, i.e. researchers, PhD students, Post-Docs etc., who want to learn more about the new RWTH research program "Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)" and who are interested in becoming involved as a project supvervisor, to join us for one of the get-togethers. The program presentations will take place in room 5.31 on the 5th floor of the new university building "SuperC" on the following dates: Tue, 28 Oct, 13:00 h -13:30 h Tue, 4 Nov, 17:00 h -17:30 h Thu, 13 Nov, 13:30 h -14:00 h Mon, 24 Nov, 17:00 h -17:30 h UROP is specifically designed for undergraduate students who wish to attain hands-on experience in fundamental research at an early stage of their academic career. The program offers them the unique chance to conduct their own limited research project, and thus actively experience what research is like. Participating students are either RWTH Aachen students or coming form a US or Canadian university. While pursuing their projects, each student is mentored and supervised by a member of the RWTH research staff. You, the supervisors, in turn, will benefit from your student assistants by assigning small tasks to them, which are part of your own research project. Please read more in the attached flyer "Information for Supervisors" or visit the website www.rwth-aachen.de/urop. For additional information please contact the program coordinator, Ms. Beate Wassenberg. You can reach her by phone (0241-80 90 687) or via email (Beate.Wassenberg@zhv.rwth-aachen.de). Looking forward to meeting you soon. With kind regards, Your DoC.NET Team
