Dear Data Stewards, dear RDM-Manager, After our first meeting, the HMC training, we are now continuing in our regular format. Next week on Wednesday, we look forward to contributions on the topic of data management plans and what we can do with them. First, there will be an update on RDMO and the new features and then two practical examples. 1.) Update RDMO RDMO as a data management plan tool can be relevant for project groups that complete a DMP together as a team. At the same time, the hierarchies can be used to map a certain structure of the projects involved, which sometimes makes it easier for data stewards to organize the work on the DMPs. These and other possibilities will be demonstrated and discussed in the presentation. 2.) Introducing the IoP Data Finder - Using RDMO to make research data easier to find The IoP Data Finder is a web application within the Internet of Production (IoP) cluster of excellence which aims to improve the discoverability of research data within the cluster. At its core, the finder uses the DMP information provided by RDMO to provide researchers with a platform which allows them to search for relevant research conducted in the IoP. 3.) From a Data Map to a Data Management Plan In the Data Management Plan (DMP) presentation, participants will gain an overview of the objectives of a DMP. They will learn how to approach a research project while considering research data management and the available infrastructure at their institution before initiating a new project. This approach is practical and can be applied directly: Step 1 involves creating a Data Map of the existing IT infrastructure of the institution and/or the specific field of study. Step 2 consists of translating this Data Map into a DMP that also addresses the specific requirements of the respective project. We will introduce the DMP tool RDMO as an example since it is used at RWTH. However, the approach using the Data Map and the tool is agnostic and can be adapted to different systems. I had already sent you a series date. Unfortunately, not everyone realized it as a series. So here is the link for registration again. <https://rwth.zoom-x.de/meeting/register/u5wrcOirqT4qG9WzUHgfWiU2KC-GQLihxl2 H> https://rwth.zoom-x.de/meeting/register/u5wrcOirqT4qG9WzUHgfWiU2KC-GQLihxl2H We will be happy to see you.
