Dear RDM community@RWTH,

based on the evaluation of our network activities, we are making some changes to the structure of our meetings.  We already presented the details at our last network meeting on March 19th 2025. The slides are available in the project room [1].  

Our goal is to simplify participation by eliminating the distinction between Data Stewards and other RDM-active members while reducing the overall time commitment for the Data Stewards. So, we are merging the monthly Data Steward Jour Fixe with the monthly RDM Network Meeting. This will result in approximately 10 meetings per year with a mix of formats:

• 6 Topic Specials (online, 90 min.): presentations, science(speed)dating and other interactive elements
• 2 Practice Specials (online, 90 min.): stand-up round to shortly present the current RDM tasks based on a documentation in the project room, topic-based exchange
• 2 Practice Specials (in-person, 120 min + lunchtime): flash talks to current RDM tasks, Q&A, topic-based exchange, networking

The „Practice Specials“ are mandatory for all Data Stewards and open to all RDM network members who are willing to actively contribute by presenting their RDM work in the meeting and in the intranet project room.

Unfortunately, we agreed on a new time slot. In future the RDM network meetings  will take place on the 4th Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM. Therefore, I will delete the existing meeting series and set up a new recurring appointment. Please keep an eye on your calendar invitations and update your schedules accordingly. I sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience these adjustments may cause!
