OK, thank you for the additional info. I think we'll be able to provide you with an updated VM for this purpose. I will follow up after discussing this with the COMPASS staff.
Please let us know if we should take additional steps, e.g. concerning licenses, to use COMPASS for teaching purpose.
Since Luxembourg is an ESA member state, and the presenters (as I understand) work or study for institutions in ESA member states, the use is legitimate. Teaching is a legitimate use, also.
Also, out of interest, do any consortium members use COMPASS for teaching in Aachen or Trento?
In Trento we do not use it specifically for teaching. I am not sure about Aachen. Kind regards, Marco

We are preparing the materials for a several practical sessions in a computer science course, that is starting in a month.
If it is not possible, do you think we can use a previous (fully working) version of COMPASS (we need fault tree generation, timed and hybrid automata and as many graphical representation features as possible).

we need to discuss this within the COMPASS team. I'll let you know whether and when it would be possible to get the newer version.
If possible, could you elaborate on the purpose of use and context (just to better understand how urgent is is for you).
Best regards,

Hi,
We're trying out the COMPASS tutorial (v. 3.0) for fault trees on your VM.
Following the instructions on page 36 we have two immediate problems.
1. Major: We can enter the probabilities as indicated (0.2,0.2,0.3,0.3), but the tree generated indicates probabilities of 0.
2. Minor: If we click on the generated image an error is thrown.
This should be reproducible on the VM provided, since we make no changes.
Could you advise us on the root of this problem. E.g., is there perhaps a mismatch between the tutorial (v.3.0) and version of COMPASS on the VM?
Kind regards,
Ross

Hi,
We're trying out the COMPASS tutorial (v.
Kind regards,
Ross
