Press release Fourth edition of the RIFF, Roma Independent Film Festival. Rome, New Olympia cinema, Mezzanino Giallo Termini train station April 15-21 2005 Rome, March 16th - great attention to the cinematography of all the countries. This is the password of the new editions of the RIFF Awards 2005. The director Juan Gerard, will be at the RIFF to present to the Italian audience Cuba Libre, the movie on the figure of CHE GUEVARA interpreted by Harvey Keitel. During the night it will be assigned the prize to the actor Harvey Keitel, for his career. But it wont be the only special of the RIFF: it will be instituted from the Institute Luce, as an initiative of the Delegate Administrator Luciano Sovena, a prize that will guarantee to the winner of the shorts section the projection in the cinemas. 12 are the international films in competition. Among these there are: Seven Times Lucky by Gary Yates with Kevin Pollak, the Iranian Story Undone by Hassan Yektapanah, recently awarded at Rotterdam, and Fatti della banda della Magliana, by Daniele Costantini, the only Italian film. During the festival will be projected as a premiere, the movie Le Ricamatrici (the embroideresses) by Eléonor Faucher, distributed by BIM. For the shorts section, to mention the musical West Bank Story, from the success from the Sundance and Behind the Curtain by Alvaro Ron, with Peter McNicol, the appreciated character of Ally Macbeal. During the festival it twill be assigned the New visions prize to the director Paolo Sorrentino, for his creative commitment in the independent cinematography. The program of the RIFF, directed by Fabrizio Ferrari, enriches with the tribute of the festival to the 70 years of the National School of Cinema, with the event on the French cinema, in collaboration with Unifrance, with documentaries with music, human rights, news, and at last with the section dedicated to the screen writings.
