Registration figures break the marks of 2003 by 10%
Based on an increase of preregistration of 10% compared to 2003, the Marché du Film this year expects a record number of 8500 participants. The highest increases are from the UK, the US, Asia, Spain, South Africa and Finland. The number of buyers is also noticeably up with 300 more registered at this stage, coming from the US, the UK, Japan, Italy, South Korea as well as Spain and South Africa.
The Marché du Film presents a program of 1400 screenings - of which more than 50% are world premieres - and 2600 films and projects. These numbers are also on the rise, especially as to projects in pre-production (+40%) and films from the UK (+30%). With a total of 73 countries compared to 60 last year, 13 new countries will present their films at the Marché, more particularly coming from Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.
