2. Welcome Week Summer Term 2025: Volunteers wanted!
The next Welcome Week for new international students is taking place from April 1 to April 4, 2025, and the Welcome Week Team is looking for volunteers to help with various tasks during the events. If you would like to experience the international atmosphere of RWTH and meet new fellow international students, register as Welcome Week Volunteer at welcomeweek(a)rwth-aachen.de <mailto:welcomeweek@rwth-aachen.de> by February 15, 2025.

3. Call for Co-Trainers for Intercultural Trainings for International Students
Are you interested in supporting an intercultural trainer, gaining insights into this exciting field, and sharing your knowledge and experiences with international freshmen during an intercultural training?
Then becoming a co-trainer might be the perfect opportunity for you!
As a co-trainer, you will assist with both the organizational and content-related aspects of an intercultural training course for international students. These workshops, held in English, focus on intercultural communication and are designed for international students at the start of the semester. Plus, your role as a co-trainer will count as a component towards the <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/studium/im-studium/engagement-freizeit/…> Certificate International at RWTH.
Upcoming Training Dates for summer term 2025:
* Wednesday, 02.04.25 | 10:00 – 13:30
* Thursday, 03.04.25 | 10:00 – 13:30
Please note: Your responsibilities as a co-trainer start before the training itself and include organizational and logistical support. In addition to the 3.5-hour training session, you should plan for approximately 2 extra hours of preparation and follow-up.

4. AISA – Get Involved in a Student Group
The Association of Indian Students in Aachen (AISA e.V.) is a non-profit and vibrant student-run organization dedicated to supporting the Indian community in Aachen. They strive to create a sense of home away from home by organizing a wide range of cultural, social, and educational events throughout the year.
From vibrant celebrations like Holi, Eid, Diwali, and Independence Day to grand showcases such as Aachen Entdeckt Indien/IndienTag, the 2-day Navratri celebration, and UTSAV, AISA stands as a Cultural Powerhouse in Aachen. Beyond the festivities, they take pride in welcoming new students with fresher meetups, guidance sessions, and city tours, ensuring a seamless transition into life in Aachen.

WANTED! Act as a buddy during the upcoming summer term 2025
***New mentees arriving soon***
The new summer term is about to start. A new exciting phase, especially for all our new international freshmen! Many of them will sign up for the BeBuddy program as a mentee, soon waiting to be matched with a Buddy. If you are interested in supporting a new international student (or more than one) and you are mostly on site in Aachen, please update your <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/bebuddy/buddy-form> Buddy profile in the database so we can match you with a mentee. You can also write us an email to: <mailto:bebuddy@rwth-aachen.de> bebuddy(a)rwth-aachen.de with your dates of availability and the number of mentees you would like to support. Of course, being trained as a buddy is a prerequisite for that. Next to becoming friends with your mentees, you will also have the opportunity to get to know other buddies during our events, announced in our monthly Newsletter and you’ll receive a certificate for your buddy activity which also serves as a component for the <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/studium/Im-Studium/Engagement-Freizeit/…> Certificate International.
If you have friends who would also like to become active as a buddy, please spread the word. We are always looking for new buddies (especially faculty 3, 5 and 6 are needed).The only thing they have to do is to pass the <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/Die-RWTH/Profil/Internationalisierung/V…> virtual BeBuddy training. Being at least in the 2nd semester and German language skills on a B1 level are obligatory. If they fulfill these prerequisites, they are welcome to register for the BeBuddy training via email to <mailto:leonie.hafen@zhv.aachen-rwth.de> leonie.hafen(a)zhv.aachen-rwth.de.

My home is your castle – Sublet your room to an international student
You are studying at RWTH and are planning to spend some time abroad soon? Sublet your place to an international student! <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/studium/Im-Studium/Engagement-Freizeit/…> My Home is your Castle was initiated by the International Office to make the outgoings‘ return easier for them after their stay abroad while also fostering contact between local and international students at the same time.
How does it work? Register your available apartment or room with our International Office Housing Advice Service Team (housing(a)rwth-aachen.de). We will pass your offer onto international students seeking for lodging. Ideally, you will find a suitable subtenant who will be studying at RWTH for exactly the period of time you will be gone. If you successfully sublet your place to an international student, you may even have it recognized as a component of <https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/studium/Im-Studium/Engagement-Freizeit/…> Certificate International!
