All videos were provided by Pacific Garbage Screening (an organization from Aachen, Germany, which is working against plastic pollution).
5) Aachen university canteens open again: Lunch to go!
The opening will take place gradually and will start on Monday, 22 June, with a to-go service in the Mensa Academica and in the Mensa Vita.
Both dining halls open weekdays from 11:30 am to 3 pm and will sell take-away food only. A new guidance system will be used for customer traffic to respect all necessary hygienic measures. For the time being, it will not be possible to eat and drink on the terraces and the entire outdoor area.
As before the COVID 19 pandemic, payment will be made exclusively with BlueCard, FH card, guest card and student guest card. The choice of food will be limited, but will be based on the facilities' previous offerings. As usual, the daily updated menus can be found at www.studierendenwerk-aachen.de<http://www.studierendenwerk-aachen.de/>.
6) Interim financial aid funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
Interim financial aid provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is intended to help those students who can prove that they are faced with financial hardship caused by the pandemic, who need immediate help and are unable to overcome their pandemic-related hardship by making use of other support. Depending on the proven need, between 100 euros and 500 euros can be paid out as a non-repayable grant.
