1) Register now for the 2-days workshop on intercultural communication on February 20 (9am - 6pm) + 21 (9am - 5pm), 2020
Working in international teams requires intercultural competence, awareness and solution finding in possible conflict situations. During the two days, students are given the opportunity to develop their intercultural competence, a skills set which becomes ever more useful for all professional activities and which is thus looked for by prospective employers. As the seminar is held in English, you will also improve your English language proficiency. Therefore, you should bring a basic knowledge of English so as to be able to participate in discussions and group activities.
The workshop is free of charge and targets German and international students who wish to embark upon a study abroad period, who are active in international student organizations, or who would simply like to improve their communication and intercultural skills.
The workshop is held by Alexia Petersen, a Canadian with multicultural background who has lived in Aachen for many years. Ms. Petersen is a highly experienced trainer and consultant in intercultural communication, working with various target groups in both universities and research institutions, and international companies.

For those of you who will spend their semester break writing papers, the Language Center has the following offer: the "Long Night of Term Papers<https://www.sz.rwth-aachen.de/go/id/onlp?#aaaaaaaaaaapnkf>". This event will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 7pm at the University Library. Registration is not required. Students from all faculties will gets tips on organizing and editing their texts and working with reference systems. Snacks, beverages, and light exercises for breaks will be offered.

3) Tết Canh Tý– New Year’s celebration of the Vietnamese association DVF Aachen
t's time again: The DVF invites to the annual New Year's celebration on February 8, 2020
Where: Aula of the Herzogenrath Gymnasium (Bardenberger Str. 72, 52134 Herzogenrath).
Entrance: free
Food and Drinks can be purchased on site.
The festival is also being held for the 20th time since the association was founded, which the members are particularly proud of. For this reason, there will be a small exhibition about the history of the association as well as a photo competition.
The whole festivity is a charity event for children in need in Vietnam.

4) Tonight: Country evening Kazakhstan at ESG (Nizzaallee 20, Aachen)
The ESG (Evangelische Studentengemeinde) invites all interested people to their country evening today at 8.15 pm.
