4) Announcement: Scholarship for Completing Studies and Scholarship for Particularly Involved International Students
We would like to inform you that the application period for the Scholarship for Completing Studies and the Scholarship for Particularly Involved International Students will start on the 1st of May. Both scholarships are awarded by the International Office with funds from the DAAD. They are meant for international students who have a good or very good academic performance and engage themselves internationally besides their studies.

5) Start with a Friend brings local and refugees in tandems – want to join in?
Start with a Friend e.V<https://www.start-with-a-friend.de/>, brings local and refugees in tandems together – based on interests and needs. Ideally a friendship evolves, but in any case a network is established which facilitates the refugees’ successful start in Germany. Start with a Friend accompanies and mentors the tandems after the matching and organizes a wide range of community activities to bring people together and build a community. Furthermore, we want to create an environment, which enables even people with busy schedules to commit their free time to civic engagement and dedicate their time and resources according to their capacities.

3) Interested in getting guitar lessons? Few spots available!
The AV (ASTA’s international students’ representatives) invites you to join the guitar course! There are still vacant spots for the Guitar Lessons for Absolute Beginners being taught by Christian, a professional musician. The lessons will be held on Friday evenings (Dates - 03.05, 10.05,17.05 and 31.05) at Humboldt Haus between 6PM - 6.45PM.
Below are the details about what will be taught in the Absolute Beginners Course:
- Parts of a guitar
- How to play
- How to tune
- First simple chords
- First easy songs played with simple chords
- How to understand lead sheets
- Some difficult chords played with lazy grips, that work though
- Introduction to chord diagrams
- Introduction to tablatures as an easy way of notation, compared with classical notation (basic knowledge)

2) Quantum technology – Apply for the MOST GASE Summer Program at the National Taiwan University
RWTHs university partner National Taiwan University is announcing the MOST GASE Summer Program: Quantum Technology (Q+). In this six-week program, students will gain insights into the research breakthroughs of this field and learn the application of AI. The carefully curated program will also allow students to build professional networks and engage in multidisciplinary research in both quantum technology and AI.
The MOST GASE Summer Program: Quantum Technology will take place from June 17 to July 27, 2019. The program consists of quantum technology, artificial intelligence courses and lab research.

4) Dance and party for a good cause: Iguana Live Sounds by Technik ohne Grenzen feat. Pinu´u – April 11
